Redrow Homes South Midlands, which is currently building at Bloxham Vale, on Bloxham Road, donated £350 to Hardwick Primary School, in Ferriston.
The donation was part of Redrow’s community fund initiative, a scheme to give £10,000 to support community projects led by local groups, organisations and individuals.
The donation went towards the school’s summer PTA fundraising event, organised to upgrade the school’s playground. A new outdoor sports surface is set to be built, and will be available for more than 200 pupils and nursery children to use, including after-school clubs.
Zoe Smith, chair of Hardwick Primary School’s PTA, said: “We are really grateful for Redrow’s donation, which has helped us fund a much-needed upgrade for our playground area.
“We can’t wait to unveil our new sports surface and encourage our pupils to get active. On behalf of everyone at the school, I would like to say a big thank you to the Redrow team for their support.”
Tonia Tyler, sales director for Redrow Homes South Midlands, said: “Here at Redrow Homes, we are committed to creating thriving communities, so we’re really excited to support local initiatives and groups.
“Taking part in sports, or generally being more active, is essential for children – it’s a great way to boost their wellbeing while giving them an opportunity to make new friends. I’m delighted we were able to help Hardwick Primary School fund its new sports surface, and we look forward to hearing more about the pupils’ future sporting achievements once it’s installed!”
